1. I’ve Surpassed Oda Nobunaga’s Age
Before I knew it, I had surpassed the age at which Oda Nobunaga,famous Japanese Samurai, died—49. However, I feel I haven’t yet fully contributed to the world. That’s why I launched Substack today: to share the insights and experiences I believe can benefit the world.
2. Zero Judgment. A Space Where We Can Freely Express Our Thoughts
I want to build a space—one that AI can’t calculate—where freely sharing our thoughts creates a synergy where 1 + 1 = 100.
3. My Specialty Is Architectu construction.
My specialty is architecture construction. I come from a general contractor background and hold a First-Class Architect license in Japan. I’m also a licensed real estate broker. When I became interested in statistics and got a statistics certification. Now, after living abroad for business, I’m hooked on learning English conversation with the goal of exchanging jokes with many foreigners. My current goal is a TOEIC score of 900 which is famous English ability test in Japan.
4. Many Hobbies
I’m interested in so many things that I never have enough time. So lately, I’ve been thinking about “deciding what not to do.”
5.My Approach to Studying: The “Aha! Strategy”
Ever since I was preparing for the Kyoto University entrance exams, which is known as difficult in Japan, I enjoyed the process of trial and error to figure out how to reach the passing score.
When I was at high school, I was determined to succeed, so I immersed myself in memorisation and repetitive study. But, as expected, doing only that led me to a plateau, and I ended up with no results—which is how I entered my first year as a rōnin (repeat exam taker).
During my first week at cram school, I encountered a math approach that focused on asking “Why?” and a geography teacher who said, “Don’t just memorize it. You have to understand it and say, ‘Ah, I see!’”
I don’t think many people suddenly become good at exam math partway through. I could always score 100 on problems like those on the National Center Test, but I was completely unable to solve applied problems. This shows that while I was able to solve problems that followed a specific pattern, I suddenly couldn’t solve them anymore as soon as the problem was presented in a slightly different form. I used to think that anyone who could solve Kyoto University’s math problems was a natural genius. But thanks to the words of those two teachers I met during my first year at prep school, my results changed completely.
That’s the study method I still use today: asking “Why?” and arriving at a “Ah, I see!” moment of understanding.
I’ve based my work on this approach all along. That’s why I now want to share insights—drawn from my various hobbies and experiences—that I believe can benefit the world, all centered around this way of thinking.
Because I’ve realized I’ve now surpassed Japanese famous Samurai, Oda Nobunaga’s age,49. Going forward, I’ll be sharing content focused on architecture, international topics, travel, and hobbies—not only for people in Japan but also for audiences abroad.
「なるほど」戦略を広める
1. 織田信長の年齢を超えた
気づけば49歳で亡くなった織田信長の年齢を超えていた。しかし、わたしはまだ社会に貢献しきれていない。だから、いまSubstackを通して社会に役立つと思われる私の経験知を共有していきたいと思い本日Substackを設立した。
2. 非難ゼロ。お互いに自由に自分の考えを述べるスペース
考えていることを自由に話すことで１＋１＝１００くらいになるようなAIでは計算できないようなスペースを構築していきたい。
3. 私の専門は建築
私の専門は建築。ゼネコン出身。資格は一級建築士。一方で、宅建士でもある。一時、統計に興味をもち統計検定も取得した。いまは、海外駐在を経験後ネイティブとジョークを交わすことを目標に英会話取得にはまってる。現在TOEIC900点が目標。
4. 多趣味
いろいろなことに興味があり時間が足りない。なので最近考えることは「何をやらないかを決めること」
5. 根底を流れるのは、「なるほど戦略」
京都大学受験の時期から、いかにして合格ラインに届かせるか？ということに試行錯誤することが楽しかった。
根性はあったので、暗記、繰り返し型勉強に没頭していたのだが、案の定、それだけをしていて頭打ちになり、結果もでず迎えたのが浪人1年目。
予備校、第一週目に出会ったのが、「なぜ？」を考える数学の考え方。と地理の先生の「覚えるんじゃないよ。なるほどって納得するんだよ。」という言葉。
なかなか、途中から受験数学が得意になる人はいないとおもう。わたしはずっと、センター試験のような問題は100点とれるのだけど、応用問題が、からきし解けなかった。
京大の数学を解けるやつは天才肌だと思っていた。だけど、予備校生の1年目に出会った2人の先生の言葉のおかげで結果がガラリと変わった。
それが今もなお続けている、「なぜ？」を考え「なるほど」と納得する勉強法。
これを軸にいままで仕事もしてきた。だからこそいま、この考え方を軸にしたいろいろな私の趣味や経験に関することに基づいた社会に役立つと思われることを共有していきたいと考えている。
